Streamline Omics Research with Scispot: The All-In-One Platform for R&D, Data Management, and Lab Operations

Omics research and development (R&D) is a rapidly evolving field, with increasingly sophisticated technology that allows biotech startups and scaleups to create huge data sets related to various biological molecules, such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and metabolites. Omics research often requires an interdisciplinary approach, which has the potential to revolutionize the way we understand and treat diseases, but comes with its own set of challenges.

Challenges of Omics R&D

One of the biggest challenges that TechBio startups face is the sheer amount of data generated by omics research, which requires sophisticated tools and technology to manage, process, and analyze. Another challenge is the complex workflows like gene construction, protein designing, and vector planning, that require careful coordination between multiple teams and stakeholders. Keeping up with the latest advancements in omics research can also be a challenge, as the field is constantly evolving. Overcoming these challenges is critical for TechBio startups using omics to develop new therapeutics, diagnostics, and other products or services.

"While unlimited potential lies within massive omics datasets, the success of omics sciences to further our understanding of human disease and/or translating these findings to clinical utility remains elusive due to a number of factors. A significant limiting factor is the integration of different omics datasets (i.e., integromics) for extraction of biological and clinical insights.“ [Ref: Integration of omics sciences to advance biology and medicine. A Comprehensive, Integrated Solution for Biotech Startups and Scaleups

Scispot’s configurable TechBio toolkit is designed to help TechBio startups streamline complex omics R&D processes, get the most value from huge data sets, increase efficiency, and accelerate product development.

“Biotech R&D is complicated. We built Scispot so biotech startups can streamline, automate, and integrate R&D, sample and data management, lab operations, communications, and sales. With Scispot you can focus on what really matters - advancing your research and making a difference in people's lives.” Guru Singh, Co-Founder and CEO, Scispot.

Scispot is a comprehensive platform with a range of tools and features designed to support omics research. Here are just some examples of how TechBio startups can use Scispot.

Visualize Metabolites with ChemBoard

Scispot's ChemBoard tool allows biotechs to easily explore the structure of DNA, RNA nucleotide/nucleoside , and (amino acids) proteins, as well as visualize their properties (including stereochemistry) in a user-friendly interface.

Speed Up Experimental Design with Drag-and-Drop Protocols

Researchers can also use Scispot to curate protocols and experiment workflows using a drag-and-drop workflow diagram, making it easy and quick to set up new experiments and collaborate with team members and external partners. Biotechs can easily version and seamlessly manage workflows and track the progress of different projects.

Register, Track, and Link Samples with Sample Manager

Scispot's advanced LIMS Sample Manager makes it simple to register, track, and report on genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics samples. Startups can also link all samples with data and metadata and maintain a full audit trail for regulatory compliance.

Design and Visualize Genetic Material with Sequence Designer

For genomics and transcriptomics data, Scispot offers a robust data management system that allows users to easily upload terabytes of data and attach relevant files. Sequence Designer enables users to design DNA/RNA sequences and visualize genetic fragments, while the inventory management system allows for easy storage and automation of inventory.

Customize Protein Databases and Workflows

For proteomics research, Scispot offers a range of features to help researchers streamline their workflows and manage their protein databases. The platform allows users to templatize their workflows and save them in the Template library, while the Labsheet feature enables users to customize their protein databases. Additionally, the real-time audit trail feature allows researchers to track their protein of interest and maintain a comprehensive record of their research.

Lindsay Pino, Co-founder and CTO, Talus Bio, and the Talus Bio team, used Scispot to build a personalized proteomics sample manager.

Personalize Your Lab Management Platform

The Scispot platform is completely configurable through graphical user interface (GUI) and command line interface (CLI) so you can adapt the platform to your needs as you grow.

We also offer personalized support and training to ensure that you get the most out of our platform. Our team of experts is always available to answer your questions, provide guidance, and help you troubleshoot any issues you may encounter.

"Biotechs can't afford to do old school science, one experiment at a time. From Day 1, they need to be building processes, infrastructure, and tools that allow them to scale their work, get results faster, and make better decisions. Most biotechs aren't equipped to build their own data management solutions for these problems - fortunately, Scispot has developed a suite of tools that fits into a biotech company of any size and complexity." What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
